Author Guidelines for WIS Publisher (World’s Institute of Scholars)
Thank you for your interest in submitting your research to WIS Publisher (World’s Institute of Scholars). To ensure your submission meets our standards, please follow these guidelines carefully. They apply to submissions to WIS journals and conference proceedings.
- Manuscript Preparation
General Formatting
- File format: Microsoft Word (.docx).
- Font: Times New Roman (or similar); 12-point for body text, 10-point for references, captions, and footnotes.
- Spacing: Double-spaced throughout, including abstract, main text, equations, figure captions, tables, and references.
- Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.
- Pagination and line numbers: Include page numbers and continuous line numbering.
- Sections: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methodology, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgments, References, and (if applicable) Supplementary Information.
- Consistency: Use SI units and define abbreviations at first use.
Title and Abstract
- Title: Concise, descriptive, and specific to the main contribution; avoid abbreviations.
- Abstract: 150–250 words, self-contained, summarizing objectives, methods, key results, and significance. Do not cite references or refer to figures/tables.
Keywords
- Provide 4–6 keywords that reflect the scope and content of your manuscript. Avoid repeating words already in the title.
Figures and Tables
- Figures: Minimum 300 dpi resolution; submit in editable, high-quality formats (EPS, TIFF, or PDF). Number consecutively (Figure 1, Figure 2, …) and include descriptive captions. Ensure symbols, labels, and axes are legible.
- Colour and accessibility: Use colourblind-safe palettes where possible; ensure adequate contrast.
- Tables: Create as editable text (not images), with concise titles above and explanatory footnotes below. Number consecutively and reference all figures/tables in the text.
- Image integrity: Only global, uniformly applied adjustments are permitted; do not manipulate data.
Equations
- Prepare equations with Word’s built-in Equation Editor or Math Type.
- Number equations consecutively with right-aligned parentheses, e.g., (1), (2).
- Define all variables at first use and maintain consistent notation.
References
- Citation style: Use APA style unless the target WIS journal specifies otherwise.
- In-text citations: Author–year format.
- Reference list: Complete and consistent; include DOIs where available.
- Order: Number references consecutively in the order cited if the target venue requires numbered citations; otherwise follow APA’s alphabetical order per journal instructions. Ensure all in-text citations appear in the reference list and vice versa.
- Submission Process
Online Submission
- Submit manuscripts via the WIS submission portal on the World’s Institute of Scholars website.
- Complete all fields: title, abstract, author details (affiliations, emails), corresponding author, and ORCID iDs where available.
- Cover letter: Briefly state the manuscript’s novelty, significance, and fit with the selected WIS journal or proceedings track.
Author Contributions
- Include a contribution statement specifying each author’s role (e.g., conceptualization, methodology, investigation, data curation, formal analysis, writing—original draft, writing—review & editing, visualization, supervision, funding acquisition).
Ethics and Compliance
- Human/animal research: Provide ethics approval identifiers and informed consent statements where applicable.
- Clinical trials: Include registry information if relevant.
- Research integrity: Adhere to WIS policies on plagiarism, self-plagiarism, data fabrication/falsification, image manipulation, and dual submission. Submissions may be screened with plagiarism-detection tools.
Data and Materials Availability
- Include a data availability statement indicating where data, code, and materials can be accessed, with persistent identifiers (e.g., DOIs) where possible.
- Peer Review Process
- All submissions undergo editorial screening for scope, completeness, and ethical compliance, followed by external peer review.
- Review criteria: originality, scientific rigor, clarity, reproducibility, and impact.
- Timelines: Initial checks typically within 1–2 weeks; external review usually 2–6 weeks depending on reviewer availability.
- Revisions: Authors may be asked to revise; provide a point-by-point response to all reviewer and editor comments and highlight changes in the manuscript.
- Copyright and Permissions
- Upon acceptance, authors will complete a publication agreement. WIS may publish under either standard copyright transfer or an open access license depending on journal policy.
- Third-party content: Authors are responsible for securing permissions for figures, tables, or substantial text excerpts and for providing appropriate credit and license details.
- Types of Articles Accepted
- Research Articles: Full-length reports of original research.
- Review Articles: Comprehensive, critical assessments of recent advances.
- Letters/Rapid Communications: Brief reports of significant, timely findings.
- Proceedings Papers: Contributions presented at WIS-affiliated conferences, following the relevant proceedings template and policies.
- Open Access and Publication Fees
- WIS offers open access options. Authors selecting open access may be responsible for an article processing charge (APC).
- Fees and waivers: Consult the specific WIS journal or proceedings page for current APC rates, waiver policies, and funding guidance.
- Revisions and Resubmissions
- Submit revised manuscripts via the portal with:
- A detailed response letter addressing each reviewer/editor comment.
- A clean version and a marked-up version (track changes or highlighted text).
- Ensure all figures, tables, and supplementary files are updated consistently.
- Publication Ethics
Authors are expected to:
- Report methods and results accurately and transparently.
- Retain and, if requested, provide primary data underlying the findings.
- Avoid plagiarism, redundant publication, and salami slicing.
- Disclose all potential conflicts of interest (financial and non-financial).
- Acknowledge all funding sources and state funder roles.
- Disclose any use of generative AI tools; AI systems cannot be listed as authors and authors remain responsible for all content.

- Out of scope for the selected WIS journal or track.
- Insufficient novelty or scientific rigor.
- Ethical or reporting noncompliance (e.g., missing approvals, data availability).
- Poor language quality or unclear presentation.
- Figures/tables not meeting technical specifications.
- Plagiarism or duplicate submission.
